Road maintenance
CGP is responsible for maintaining 19 percent of the national road network in the south-eastern part of Slovenia and performs all other maintenance works in the areas of Dolenjska, Posavje, Ribnica, Kočevje and Bela Krajina.
The road maintenance sector is in charge of all types of roads – from motorways, national, regional and local roads as well as town streets. Our special equipment, responsiveness and team work provide good guarantees of managing traffic congestion, road maintenance in summer and winter and improved road safety.
The work most frequently performed in summer comprises:
- regular, sporadic and extraordinary road surveys,
- maintenance of the carriageway and outside of it,
- clearing of roads and the road environment,
- cleaning and renovation of drainage systems,
- grass mowing, trimming of plants,
- repair to damage and uneven sites on the carriageway and
shoulders, - repair of signs on the carriageway,
- maintenance of road signs and equipment,
- surface and asphalt dressing,
- an intervention service.
In winter our primary concern is to ensure safe and flowing traffic regardless of the weather conditions. Through the preventive spreading of salt we inhibit ice forming on roads, and in the event of snow we plough it off and spread salt.
